3 Children killed by fire in Lagos

On Wednesday, 3 children of same parents died 24 hours after they were involved in the fire incident that engulfed their apartment located at Ikotun Egbe area in Lagos.
The children died in a hospital where they were taking for treatment on Tuesday. According to Vanguard.
A source close to the Family reported that one of the victims died shortly after they were brought to the hospital.
The source also identified the victims as Chiamaka, Emmanuel and Chiagozie Ifedibe. Adding that they are all below 10 years of age.
The fire was said to have started around 2 P.M, on Tuesday, and was caused by power outage inside their single room apartment located at No.15 Ikuna str. Liason Road, Ikotun Egbe. According to the source.
” One died at 11 p.m. on Tuesday and the second one died 12. 30 a.m. on Wednesday, ” the source said, adding that their father was late.
The same source also added that Mrs. Ngozi Ifedibe, the mother to the victims was not at home when the fire started.
Mr. Razak Fadipe, Director, Lagos state fire service confirmed the incident and said that the information they received at arrival was that the victims mother locked them in.
Fadipe said:
” She was said to be cooking and left them  inside to purchase some items in a nearby shop when the incident occurred,”
He also stated that the children were in critical condition when he visited them in the hospital on Tuesday.
